This comes as the Hospital Association of South Africa (HASA) and health care provider, 'Alignd' dissect the critical issues affecting the sector through a series of podcasts. Some of the greatest challenges were found to be the shortage of providers who are trained to provide palliative care. CEO of Alignd, Dr Lungi Nyathi says there are less than 100 palliative care-trained doctors in South Africa - while there's also a dire shortage of nurses trained in palliative medicine...
