by Newsbreak Producer, Shanell Daniel - Investigations are underway after a grade eight learner was allegedly raped by three fellow learners while attending a school orientation camp in De Deur, Johannesburg.
Gauteng Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi, addressed learners and members of Fons Luminis Secondary School, at Diepkloof, in Soweto and pleaded to protect the victim and to ensure that the girl is safe at school.
The Gauteng Department of Education Spokesperson, Steve Mabona, says the alleged perpetrators are suspended and the department has dispatched social workers to the school.
