By Newsbreak Producer Matthew Veeran - Multiple Durban residents have expressed shock and anger at what seems to be a criminal syndicate operating at a popular casino in the city. In the past year or so, at least seven people have come forward, claiming they were approached by a women while using the slot machines - who would thereafter strike a conversion with them and ultimately get details such as contact details and residential addresses. The victims would then get a call in the days that follow from a man or women who would then sweet talk their way into their house - looking to drug or rob the elderly citizen and steal expensive belongings. The most recent incident took place just last week. In this Newsbreak exclusive, 81-year-old Radhie Archary from Musgrave shares the disturbing ordeal of her being conned, drugged and then robbed of various pieces of priceless jewellery...
*The incident, like many others has been reported to the police. Investigations continue. Meanwhile, Suncoast Casino were contacted for a response, which was not forthcoming by the time of this broadcast.
