By Newsbreak Producer, Taliesha Naidoo - Crime analyst, Dr Chris de Kock says the recent shootout with police in Durban that left five suspects dead shows that crime intelligence is still functional in the country. Last Friday, the five suspects were killed and one police officer injured during a crime intelligence driven operation at Glenwood in Durban. Police say the suspects were wanted for the murder of a drug lord and his family a week ago. Police say amongst the suspects who have been killed in the shootout is a well-known drug kingpin who was wanted for several crimes across KwaZulu-Natal. Dr de Kock says the clampdown points to new vigour by police in tackling the multimillion rand illicit drug trade in the province......
