By Newsbreak Producer Matthew Veeran - A young Port Elizabeth girl is making waves both literally and figuratively. 14-year-old Zia Hendricks is a surfing prodigy who has caught the attention of those in the sport for her exceptional talent. With a huge love for the ocean, Zia has always been eager to push herself in challenging ways. At only eight years old, she was selected for the Mandela Bay team to compete in the Surfing South Africa Grommet Games - where she reached the finals. Meanwhile, Hendricks, has been one of the recipients of the annual Sea Harvest surfing excellence award - granted to surfers with great potential. She has received the prestigious award for the past four years. Speaking ahead of a massive training camp next month, Zia explains what her plans are for 2021...
