by Newsbreak Producer, Hoosen Ebrahim - Armed with crime fighting tools including pepper spray, air rifles and baseball bats, women from Isipingo, south of Durban have formed the first ever all-female community policing forum. The group which comprises of over forty housewives from the Lotus Park area, aspires to be an inspiration in changing the lives and role of home based women in society. 61-year-old Zarina Assan - who heads up the "Ladies Lotus Park Forum", says that social media is currently their main tool in clamping down potential armed robbers and hijackers. Assan had told Newsbreak that women should begin by creating watsapp groups to quickly spread information of criminal elements in their communities...
