by Newsbreak Producer - Prabashini Moodley - Rooted in religion and service to mankind, eighty-three year old Mariamma Govender has been described as an integral and valued member of the Clayfield community, at Phoenix north of Durban. Her body was found in her home on Monday evening after she was allegedly suffocated to death. Prabashini Moodley attended yesterday's funeral service at the residence in Millclay, Clayfield and filed this report.

Transport Minister Barbara Creecy is pushing for a zero-tolerance drinking and driving law proposed through the National Road Traffic Amendment Bill. This after analysis has proven that drinking and driving largely contributes to road fatalities in the country. Therapeutic Manager for The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Rudhika Naidoo, says a ban on drinking and driving is welcomed, however work needs to be done to do the same with being under the influence of drugs while behind the wheel...
