Riley Tertel of New Buffalo volleyball is our WSJM Sports Player of the Week. Riley is a senior at New Buffalo High School and currently has a 4.0 GPA. During the week, New Buffalo defeated Berrien Springs in four sets, where Riley had 3 kills, 25 assists, 4 digs, 3 aces, and had 90% serve percentage, then in a five set win over River Valley, Riley had 6 kills, 41 assists, 8 digs, 1 ace, and a 93% serve percentage.   Riley also plays varsity tennis, she’s a member of the National Honor Society, the New Buffalo Student Senate is the senior class president.  Our WSJM Sports Player of the Week is Riley Tertel of New Buffalo Volleyball.

In today's news: Ibrahim Parlak is weighing his next move now that he's been granted some relief in his fight to avoid deportation.  Coming up this Saturday and Sunday is the annual Whirlpool Appliance Sale to benefit the United Way of Southwest Michigan.  A celebration is being planned for this December in Three Oaks to mark the 35th anniversary of the release of Prancer, a 1989 film that was shot there.

The WSJM Sports Player of the Week is Anthony Mejia of Hartford Boys Soccer. Anthony is a senior at Hartford high school where he carries at 3.6 Grade Point Average. During the week Hartford defeated Comstock 10-2, where Anthony scored 2 goals and added 3 assists, then in the Huskies 8-1 win over Bangor.  Anthony scored 4 goals. Anthony was 1st team all conference and 2nd team all state last season as a defender, this season he has 28 goals and 8 assists after switching positions to striker. Hartford so far this season is ranked 9th in the state in Division 3.  Anthony Mejia of Hartford Huskies boys soccer is our WSJM Sports Player of the Week.
