"We're Fighting for a Bigger Purpose": L.A. Sparks Guard Chelsea Gray on WNBA Activism

View descriptionShare

We're past the halfway point in a WNBA season that's been altered by the pandemic, but energized with new meaning and emotion after the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of police officers. The players in the WNBA have been vocal about issues of police use of force and social injustice, and they have expanded the conversation into other important social issues. Among the players leading the charge is L.A. Sparks point guard and three-time All Star Chelsea Gray. She spoke to KPCC's "All Things Considered" host Nick Roman from the WNBA bubble in Bradenton, Florida.
