Today marks the FIRST Sunday mass after Pope Leo  took the helm of the Catholic Church. The world’s first American pope is from Chicago. We’re about 2,000 miles away from the Windy City, but we do have a taste of Chicago in our backyard --Portillo’s  in Buena Park. The Chicago chain has released The Leo In honor of the new pontiff. LAist's Editor in Chief Megan Garvey, who like Pope Leo was born on the South Side, gives the sandwich a try.
