When the world thinks of Los Angeles, what images comes up? Maybe Venice Beach? The Hollywood sign? Griffith Observatory? But all of this is too obvious for Rob Caves. He likes his L.A. off the beaten path. Caves is a model train builder and with a band of fellow enthusiasts he’s crafted a massive train set featuring scenes of L.A. you don’t often see in postcards but are deeply familiar to Angelenos.
