The challenges Woolsey Fire survivors face offer a warning for the state’s newest fire victims. The conditions that set the stage for the Woolsey Fire in 2018 – sparked by power lines after record drought, then driven by Santa Ana winds – is eerily similar to the conditions that drove the fires we just experienced.  Fire season is expanding in California, increasingly coinciding with the peak of Santa Ana wind season in the winter.
