In January, artist Kevin Cooley and his family lost their home in Altadena. In his day job, Cooley takes photographs of wildfires for publications like the New York Times and Wired magazine. They are mesmerizing, beautiful pictures of the destructive forces that ended up changing his and so many other people's lives in Los Angeles. A couple days after the Eaton Fire, LAist checked in with Cooley at his friend's backyard. Recently, we met up with him again.
