In May of 2018, Amazon stopped construction of all its new buildings in response to a proposed head tax that would've cost the company 20 million dollars a year. A Seattle City Councilwoman planned a demonstration outside Amazon headquarters but instead, she was met by angry construction workers who shouted her down. This was the first top of the hour newscast after the protest.
