While increased federal and local funding allows HFGNO to house more clients, key funding gaps remain. Regulations prevent certain public dollars from being spent on resources or activities that can help clients make a successful transition into housing. In response, HFGNO has partnered with United Way of Southeast Louisiana and the Greater New Orleans Foundation to establish a flexible fund to cover such gaps. Kevin Ferguson, VP of External Affairs and Membership for New Orleans & Company, and New Orleans City Council Member Lesli Harris, joins Newell to talk about it.
