The embattled menhaden industry has gotten a lot of attention in the last year with huge fish kills followed by legislation restricting pogey boats from venturing too close to the shoreline and other restrictions. Now a study is being released on the “bycatch” of the industry, in other words, how much sea life is being killed in pursuit of the almighty menhaden fish. Chris Macaluso, Director of the Center for Marine Fisheries, joins Newell to discuss the issue.
