Summertime is right around the corner and that means lots of people swimming. Nearly 4,000 people drown every year in the US. Drowning is almost always preventable. Taylor J Oelking, Executive Director Community Aquatics at the YMCA of Greater New Orleans joins the Sheriff (and former competitive swimmer) to talk about why water safety is so important, where can individuals enroll in swim lessons and where are the classes held. And also job opportunities and certifications, diverse abilities swim lessons for kids with different sensory or physical delays, kids with ASD and other musculoskeletal disorders.
