Championship Week is here.
Sixteen teams have reached the end of the road to the Superdome and will compete for state championships in the LHSAA Prep Classic. For most of the programs in the Prep Classic, this trip to New Orleans is familiar, as they expect to be in this position every December. For two others, this weekend fulfills a long-awaited dream. Cecilia is back in the Dome for the first time since winning the Class 3A Championship in 1995. Opelousas is making its first-ever trip to the Superdome and is playing in a championship game for the first time since 1956.
This weekend, eight new state champions will be crowned. We preview all of this weekend’s state title games on the Championship Edition of the the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.
