As Week 2 of the Louisiana high school football season begins, the entire football community in the state is looking to put behind it what was a rought first week back on the gridiron. A deadly shooting at a game in West Baton Rouge Parish and two brawls at games in northern Louisiana marred what was an otherwise great week of football in the state. Then on Tuesday, West Monroe's head coach was put on administrative leave after one of his players collapsed on the field from heat-related illness, the fourth such case involving that team this summer.
On this week's edition of the Pelican State Prep Football Preview, we review at all of those headlines and preview a slate of playoff-caliber games going on all across Louisiana. Ian Auzenne and our correspondents (Brad Luminais, Robin Fambrough, Gene Ponti, Meagan Glover, and Tim Fletcher) take us around the state to take a look at those games and what fans can expect in week 2 of the 2023 campaign.
