The second half of the high school football season gets under way this week. As we enter the final five weeks of the campaign, 31 teams remain undefeated. In the coming weeks, we'll find out if those programs' records are the product of outstanding play or of weak scheduling, especially as many of those schools enter district play. Some of those teams are starting to turn some heads after flying under the radar for the first half of the season, while some of them are exactly where analysts thought they would be, continuing win streaks that date back to last year's schedule.
Meanwhile, the LHSAA playoff picture is a little clearer. The association's member principals decided who would be "select" and who would be "non-select."
We'll take a look at those new developments and we'll preview the big games across the state in this week's edition of the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.
