It's Week 3 of the Louisiana high school football season, and for some schools, district play will be getting under way this week. Most other schools in the state will be renewing old rivalries this week to gear up for their district slates. Cross-parish feuds, holy wars, and intracity battles dominate this week's schedule, including one game featuring defending Division II Select champion St. Thomas More taking on last year's Division I Select runner-up Brother Martin.
Week 3 also brings a changing of the guard at one school in North Louisiana. West Monroe High School head coach Todd Garvin was relieved of his duties on Monday after four students suffered heat-related injuries during the summer, including one ahead of Week 1's game.
We have more details about that story as well as previews of games from around the state when we return with the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.
