An independent investigation of New Orleans Police Office Jeffrey Vappie, one of New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell's NOPD bodyguards, is set to begin soon. The New Orlean City Council approved NOPD's hiring of an independent law firm to look into the Metro Crime Commission's complaint, after it received photos of what appeared to be a personal moment between Vappie and the mayor.
