Intake at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center is currently very high. Every inch of available space is being used to house dogs that keep coming into the facility. The Springfield community has been very generous in stepping up to adopt or foster dogs so we can make room for new dogs that arrive daily. Every dog that is adopted or fostered frees up space for another dog. We’re on a roll! Let’s keep going!

Unfortunately many of the dogs in our care have been waiting months for an adopter to choose them. Serenity is one of those dogs. This pretty girl came to SCACAC in May as an owner surrender. She’s a little over a year old and is very friendly with people and loves to play in the play yard. She has a sweet personality and always has a smile on her face.

If you’re looking for a new best friend please come meet Serenity. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. Serenity is available for adoption, foster or foster to adopt. Staff will be happy to explain your options.
