Adoption numbers are down and it’s a challenge to find foster and adoptive homes for the many dogs in our care. It’s especially hard to find fosters and adopters for senior dogs. Our Wet Nose Wednesday star for this week is a nice senior dog who has been waiting four months for someone to give her a loving home.

Oma was abandoned by her owner and has been living in a kennel at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center since July 1st. She’s an eight year old Rottweiler mix and a good dog. Oma is a strong girl who walks pretty well on a leash. She is protective of her human while they’re out taking walks. She’s also a sweet and affectionate girl. Oma is available for foster and adoption.

Are you a fan of senior dogs? Oma could be the perfect girl for you. You can meet her and all of the other adoptable dogs during shelter hours Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. The shelter is located at 2100 Shale St. in Springfield IL.
