The kennels at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are completely full and more animals are in need of our care every day. Some of our dogs have been waiting months to be chosen by someone who will love them and give them a chance at a better life.

Bella has been at SCACAC since February when she came in as a stray. She is about five years old and she loves her time outside with the volunteers. Bella walks nicely on a leash and she’s pretty active when she’s outside because she’s been in a kennel all day for four months. Shes a friendly girl who needs a home of her own where she can decompress and become part of a family.

If you’re looking for a new best friend please come out to the shelter and meet the dogs outside which is less stressful than the kennels. Hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. ALL DIGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT. Staff members will be happy to explain your options.
