Introducing Bruno our Wet Nose Wednesday star of the week! This handsome young man is approximately two years old and he’s a Rottweiler/Lab mix. Bruno is as sweet as can be and he’s a friendly and social boy. He loves to give and receive affection and is generous with lots of kisses. Bruno is a high energy young dog who will do best in an active home. He sits nicely for treats but could use some training to best use his energy level. If you’re looking for a fun and affectionate dog to be part of your family please come meet Bruno at the shelter. He’s available for foster and adoption. The kennels at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are full to capacity. The dogs in the shelter have an urgent need for help from the community. Most dogs are available for foster and adoption. Every dog that finds a home makes space for other homeless dogs that arrive daily. SHELTER HOURS ARE MONDAY-FRIDAY 10:30-4:15 AND SATURDAY 9:00-1:00.

The kennels at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are still completely full and the dogs are in need of your help. If you’re able to adopt or foster a dog please come visit them ASAP. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00. Every foster or adoption makes room for new dogs that arrive daily. Our Wet Nose Wednesday star for this week is Barron, a four year old American Bulldog who came in as a stray in March. Barron is a big strong boy. He does okay on a leash but our volunteer says he’s hard to move when he doesn’t want to move. He’s a friendly boy who will be a good companion for someone who has experience with big dogs. Barron is available for foster and adoption. He’s waiting to start fun in the sun with a new loving family.

The kennels at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are still completely full and there is no end in sight of dogs in need of shelter. We’re asking our community to please consider fostering or adopting to free up kennel space for the dogs that arrive at our shelter every day. Our Wet Nose Wednesday star for this week is Forrest. This big chunky two year old arrived at SCACAC on January 15th as a cruelty confiscation. He’s been waiting four months for someone to notice him and give him a chance at a new life in a loving home. Forrest is a big strong boy and our volunteer says he does okay on a leash and he’s a friendly guy. He’ll do best with someone with experience with big dogs. Forrest is available for fostering and adoption just like all of the dogs in our shelter. If you’re thinking about adding a new family member please come out to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center to meet them. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.

Stewart is a three year old pit mix dog who came to the shelter as a cruelty confiscation. Even tho Stewart has had a rough start he’s a very friendly and sweet boy. This good boy is high energy and would be a wonderful companion for someone with an active lifestyle. If you’re looking for a running partner Stewart could be the guy for you. Our West Nose Wednesday star for this week is a pretty lady in need of a warm couch to cuddle on during the cold weather. Duchess came to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center at the beginning of December as a stray. We think she’s approximately three years old. Duchess is friendly with people and she seems to like other dogs as well, although we do advise a meet and greet with other dogs. Duchess is a nice dog looking for a fresh start. Are you looking for a new best friend? Duchess and all of the other adoptable dogs are waiting to meet you during shelter hours Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
