Dean DeLeo is most known for his work with rock band Stone Temple Pilots, but his musical contributions extend even further. DeLeo joined Matt Pinfield to discuss his other endeavors for this episode of New & Approved.

DeLeo recently began a new project called Trip The Witch, a collaboration with fellow guitarist Tom Bukovac. DeLeo tells Matt how he met Bukovac and when the creative idea was born. They recently released their self-titled debut album where DeLeo got to work with one of his musical heroes, Yes's Jon Anderson. DeLeo was raised on Yes along with progressive rock in general.

Matt and Dean's friendship dates many years back so the two have some fascinating stories that they dive into. One of these tales involves a creepy situation around who they believe to be the ghost of T. Rex's Marc Bolan.

DeLeo also uncovers some of his favorite guitarists and the ones that inspired his own style. He gives credit to Jimmy Page, Steve Howe, Jeff Beck, and Glen Campbell and tells some stories about meeting a few of them. Tobias Forge joined Matt Pinfield to catch up on everything going on with Swedish band Ghost on this episode of "New & Approved." Ghost just released their first single in 2 years "Hunter's Moon" for the new horror film "Halloween Kills."

Tobias dives into what it was like to write a song for a film and where his inspirations came from. The song was even partly influenced by Neil Young's "Harvest Moon" along with his research of actual harvest moons. Tobias also tells Matt about working with Iron Maiden and contributing to "The Metallica Blacklist" album which features over fifty artists of various genres covering Metallica songs. Ghost covered their signature song "Enter Sandman," which Tobias felt so honored to do. Tobias has always been inspired by Metallica along with punk, prog rock, and a whole mixed bag of music.

Ghost is touring with Volbeat next year and will playing at The Honda Center in Anaheim on March 3rd, 2022.SHOW LESS
