The volume. Oh my god, how could he do that? Watch what Charles Darwin?

The nerves is where it's at. Welcome everybody back into Nerd Sash as always, I'm Carson Braber. Alongside me is Logan Camden, and you already know what the deal is. We have got four playoff basketball games to talk about today, Logan on a Tuesday. Two teams hopes and dreams were ended today, and we had two series that are now headed for a game six. And I think we got to start Logan with the nightcap. The Nuggets cruise to a victory over the LA Clippers to take a three to two series lead. And there's really no other way to describe this than as the Jamal Murray game. Man felt like we were back in the bubble, felt like we were back in the twenty twenty three playoffs watching him just explode for more than forty points in this one. What did you take away from this performance?

Yeah, I mean it was a great Jamal game and they've certainly needed one. I mean they mentioned it on the broadcast. Jamal has the largest increase in regular season points to playoff points per game in NBA history. Like he is a big game kind of player and merchant, you know. I think sometimes we can preemptively give the label of like playoff performers, sometimes to guys who don't deserve it, right, Like Zion Williamson has a great playing game, you know, John Moran has a good play in game or something like that, and people just automatically want to pencil it in. And it's like we have such a large sample size from Jamal Murray to really prove that he is one of those guys and he is so vital and that the Nuggets are I won't say unstoppable when Jamal is at this level, but they are a hard freaking team to beat man because you've got to deal with two superstars. But there are some other guys I want to give props too. I want to give a lot of credit to this entire Nuggets collective for the energy battle tonight. I thought effort wise, they kind of big dog the Clippers. I thought defense, I thought transition, I thought rebounding were all categories where the Nuggets beat La tonight. I also thought they did a much better job maybe than I've ever seen before in a playoff game in non Jokic minutes. I want to give a lot of credit to DeAndre Jordan, even though they're very brief, Like anytime the Nuggets can get to like even or just barely negative and non Yokic minutes, it is such a massive, massive victory for them. And then the other guy I got to give a big shout out to is of course Russell Westbrook, who has a sixteen point first half and carries that over into the second half. And yeah, man, that's why I say it's such a big team win for the Nuggets. It's really uncharacteristic for them. Normally it's a Jokic carry job and they barely win by scraping their teeth. The only complaint I have for the Nuggets is I'd like to see them and they end up closing out the game. Well, I'd like to see them emphatically shut the door a little bit more on LA, but Jamal kind of did that during the last stretch. I just had a little bit of PTSD, man. I thought we might see the Clippers storm back the way they did in Game four, but Jamal did a really good job at that in this game. That's why I couldn't count the Nuggets out, man, and why I picked them to win in this series in seven. This was the series that I was definitely most conflicted on either Clippers in seven or Nuggets in seven. I was convinced it was going to go the distance from the jump. But the reason I took the Nuggets was ultimately my faith in Jokic, the continuity of this team, and my belief in Jamal Murray to reach this level. And he's the hero of this game. Man. If the Nuggets continue getting this out of Jamal Murray, man, they are a very tough team to stop. And I hope we see some more games like this. Man, it's a special, special site.

It is a special thing to watch, dude, Like, Jamal is just one of the most mesmerizing scores in basketball when he's on, because everything is so pretty. I mean he's getting to his pull ups, he's getting to his step back, he's getting to the floor. I mean, like he's the definition of that.

Man.

He's as pure a bucket as there is. This is the guy who had a fifty piece without shooting a free throw. Like that's what Jamal Murray is capable at his best, just incredible pure shot making and that was all on display in this one. But you're talking about the reputation that he's built himself as this playoff riser, And obviously that was very true and very well earned in twenty twenty in the bubble and then in twenty twenty three in the title run. But since then it had not been the case. I mean, in last year's playoffs, Jamal was bad and he was dealing with the calf thing, but he was bad, and he was pretty good in the first three games of this series, but then he was really bad last game. So, like, if you look at his postseason numbers before this game, over the last two playoff runs, he's giving it twenty points per game on under forty nine percent true shooting. So to see him have a performance like this in the playoffs just like sort of jolted me awake, and it was like, WHOA, remember when Jamal used to do this in the playoffs. Like not to say that forty plus was a regular occurrence, but it was something you knew that he was legitimately capable of in a number of games. So you said it, man, I mean, when Jamal plays like this, the Nuggets are effectively unbeatable. And that's why this was such a bizarre game. Jamal was just unstoppable. There was nothing they could do to keep him from getting to looks that he liked as a pull up shooter, and they were all going in. He shot thirteen of nineteen on jump shots tonight, like there's really no defense for that, and then guys around him also had like great jump shooting performance is like a majority of Russ's points. Man, he's knocking down open threes when they're helping off of him. That's huge. He also makes two mid range jumpers in this game. Russell Westbrook has shot twenty three percent for mid range this season, so it's frankly a fluky shooting performance from Russ, But shout out to him because when he's knocking down his jumpers, then you reap the benefits of all the other positive things that he's doing. MPG shot really well from deep in this one, so the team largely because of Jamal, but also because of Russ and MPJ and Christian Brown hits a deep three at the end of the third quarter, Like they go seventeen of thirty three from beyond the arc. That is easily the biggest component in this win. It's just they shot the shit out of the ball, and because Jamal was so red hot, you have a game where like Jokicic just takes a back seat, which was such a strange viewing experience because this was the least impactful he has ever been in a Nuggets playoff win. And I tweeted that out and some people were getting defensive, and I'm like, look, man, you know how I feel about yok I think he's clearly the best player in the world. What I'm saying is, normally when the Nuggets winning the playoffs, like you said, it is Jokic reaching this like utterly dominant, stratospherically high level. And in this game, he wasn't playing very well. In the first half. He was creating shots for others when he's drawing some extra defensive attention, but he was losing his handle a couple times against the small ball units. He wasn't efficient as a score. He had a couple turnovers, and he was good on the glass. But in the second half, like he basically doesn't touch the ball very much. I think he has two points in the entire second half. He's not racking up assists in the second half either. Like it's basically just all right, dudes around me are going to have outlier great jump shooting performances will ride that to a win. So this might be the weirdest game of the playoffs so far because like Jamal is capable of getting really hot like this, but we hadn't seen it in the playoffs in multiple years, and then to have Russ going at the same time, and just like everything was going for the nugg It's been not in the normal way where like they weren't creating amazing shots. They were just making everything that they were putting up in terms of jumpers.

Yeah, I mean, I'm happy for Jokic man when I can't think of the last time he's played a game where he could like kick his feet up and you know, chill on the bench a little bit. With a lead like that, there's such a monumental burden to carry this franchise every single night on his back, and so I'm just happy for the guy man that big Yo can kick up and take a night off for once in a while. But it's really really encouraging that the Nuggets have been able to reach this consistent of a level against the Clippers. And I honestly, I look at this in a different way. I thought this was going to be a really hard fought battle for Denver, and I still do feel that way, but I looked at that as a detriment. I kind of look at like that as a positive for both of these teams too, because I've mentioned this before in some of our game recaps. But I think this is it's really good to have a super compet team that can tune you up for this second round, because I do think that if Denver advances that they're they're playing a really good ball right now, and I think the Clippers have been a really, really great challenge.

I just don't know if there's anything to really tune you up for playing the Thunder. It's kind of a one of one experience.

Yeah, I mean I don't. I kind of disagree with that sentiment. And the only reason I say that is not because I don't think the Thunder a gonna steamroll Denver. I think the Thunder are gonna roll through the West. I just mean, with where Denver was at at the end of the regular season and the state that they were in after they fired Michael Malone, It's like this team was so clearly on a downward trajectory. A lot of people picked them to get bounced in the first round because of the vibes, because of the basketball they had been playing, and so to be five games deep in this series with a three to two lead, with the defense clicking, with Jamal figuring it out, with Michael Porter Junior playing better basketball, with Russ figuring it out. All I'm saying. I'm not saying that the Nuggets are gonna beat the Thunder in the next round or anything, but they have transformed from the and it's not like you couldn't see it coming. Anytime you have a guy like Nicole Jokic and a player like Jamal Murray, when you have a duo like that, you're obviously capable of doing some special things. But I feel like they've really flipped where they were at the end of the season. I'm just I'm happy I could have seen this series going in a much different way. The Nuggets come out flat, Jamal is off, Like I just saw a different universe, a different prism where maybe the Nuggets, the Nuggets come out really flat and get drubbed by the Clippers. But that hasn't been the case. And I think it's really encouraging level that they've been at in this series against LA.

I do think it's super impressive that they're up three to two. I think of that as an accomplishment because I think not only were the Nuggets spiraling at the end of the regular season, this Clippers team is also just really, really good, and they didn't put their best foot forward in this one. But that's a really difficult first round draw, and the Nuggets are the team with the upper hand right now. I just feel so weird about this game because it's a one off. It's fake. This isn't happening again in the playoffs for the Nuggets. Like Russ is not shooting this game, La Maul is not doing this again, and like that's where we're saying, if you get this version of Jamal Murray. But like, yeah, that's one in every one, maybe a dozen games if you're lucky. And he played significantly better in the second half of the year. He was bad to start the season, but then post All Star Break he was like a twenty three point per game guy, sixty one percent true shooting. So he has been playing better basketball than he was like in Game four, for example. It's just this isn't what Nuggets basketball normally looks like at their best. And that's why I feel weird like trying to have any big takeaways about it, because I know that if they win Game six or they win Game seven, it's not gonna be like this. It's gonna be Jokic dominating and obviously they're gonna have to make shots and they're gonna have to engage defensively, but it's gonna look very different than this one.

Yeah, I mean it's good. Obviously, I think it's gonna look different. But I mean, again, there's just a lot of factors that I really am encouraged by by Denver, especially the defense in Jamal Murray. And I don't know, man, Like I said, it's nice that Jokish can can get a night off, Well, wasn't strange was watching James Harden have an off night, you know, which I knew he was capable of and was going to give us once in this series. I didn't think this was a letdown game for the Clippers, Like I said, I thought they kind of got beat up in the energy and effort categories. I don't want to give them credit, though I thought the Nuggets did a really phenomenal job rebounding the ball tonight and specifically keeping Big Zoo off the glass. One. I think a big component of that was the absurd shot making performance that they put on, which just obviously limited the potential for defensive rebounds that the Clippers could have had. But I thought the Clippers came out a little flat. I didn't think Kawhi played his best game. I didn't think the guys around him. I thought Zoo had a solid game despite not being super impactful on the boards. He's so damn consistent, man, And that's why that's why I'm stamped with having Big Zoo as I think a top five center in the league today. And the reason I'm so confident that is the consistency of Zoo where you know, I know Bam can have an off night. I demonta sa bonus. We all know how I feel about him. It's like the guys on the cusp of there with that fringe. I never feel that with Zoo, man. I don't think like Zoo is so matchup proof in a lot of ways, man, and I just feel like his impact is can I ask every game? Sure?

Top five? So obviously we have Jokic one, are you considering ad of four now that he's in Dallas? I would, okay, So obviously Wemby is way clear of these conversations, Kat and porzingis you both have them above Zoo.

I presume, Yeah, KP is making me rethink things at the level that he's been at, because it's like even today was a disappointment. But yeah, I'd have Cad and KP above him.

Okay, And then I think we're going to get into the range where you are going to start to argue him over everybody else, like if it's Bam, he talked about that, and honest, that would put Zoo at five for you.

Yeah, I think it's about right.

It's not crazy. It's not crazy to say that. Like I've said, I think that he is in a tier with Sabonis and Bam. I think that he is an incredibly impactful two way player on any team on the planet. I do think this is a great situation for him where he is able to play drop with excellent perimeter defenders and screen navigators, and offensively he is getting spoon fed a lot of great looks by James Harden, Like, this is where I tend to give Bam a bit of the benefit of the doubt and say, if you put him with a pick and roll playmaker like that, his offense would look a good bit better than it does. And that's why I still lean on him. But Zoo has some of the best touch in basketball. He is one of the biggest, strongest bigs in basketball. He's good feel as a passer, he's a great rim protector, he's a great rebounder, and he is the epitome of consistency. Dude, Like, basically every night from him is eighteen twelve and three, twenty thirteen and four. Not as great on the boards tonight as you mentioned, but dominant as an interior scorer. Still, he's a great basketball player. I really can't be mad about you having him up that high, and he was very good for the Clippers in this one. Overall, this really does come down to Harden and you mentioned the intensity and the effort stuff, and I do agree to some extent. At the same time, like I've said, I think the Clippers would live with a lot of shots that the Nuggets got on an average.

Night night no hate our shadow gave for end of the show and gave with sting about this in our group shit, But like, yeah, man, you're are aga rush taking a bunch of jays. You're You're very okay with it. He're the defense.

I mean, not only are they okay with it, that's literally their hope on every single possession, are going to leave him and say, please give him the ball and have him shoot a three or even better a mid range. He was making even those.

That's what I was gonna say, Like, we're very analytic and statistic based, and so whatever the percentage you say is normally where we're going to lie on. And so it's like, yeah, you want a twenty three percent mid range shooter hucking it up like you can, I will. I will give them to you on a silver platter. You can have all of those possessions.

What's weird is like the Clippers offense was still pretty good. I mean, this was a very solid offensive performance from them because Kawhi didn't have his dominant scoring performance, but I did think was quite good as a playmaker. Norman Powell not a great game because the three ball wasn't really going, but I thought he was pretty good as a driver. Chris Dunn total reversal from him compared to last game where the Nuggets were ignoring him, roaming off him every single possession, and he shot one for nine, and like was the reason that the Clippers offense was struggling. He was really good offensively, and this one, Bogie was really good offensively. Zoo was really good offensively. So like everybody else did their job, it's just the Nuggets shooting the shit out of the ball, having a little bit more effort and intensity, I would agree. And then James Harden just basically being a no show in this game. Like I thought that he was careless with the ball, he wasn't super assertive, the shot wasn't falling, he wasn't finishing well. Like James Harden did nothing well in this game other than I guess, like fight for post position with Jolkic on a couple of switches. So that's really where the Clippers lose this one. On the offensive end. He's the only guy who I would really look at and say, you weren't good enough in this game, and he wasn't nearly good enough. And it is disappointing because he came into the playoffs at such a high level and has had a couple of really good performances in this series. But it is going to be hard for the Clippers to win games when you get a really bad performance like this from James Harden.

What do you make of him not being his aggressive man? Because like, even when Harden's having an off night, I want Harden taking like fifteen plus shots. I'm not a hardened guy. I have never been a hardened guy. Yeah, like the reality of this matchup, I still feel like he should be a one. He should just have better games in this every single night in this series. This this like this even as a floor for Harden, this is much too low for a player of his caliber. But it's like, I just don't I still don't think the Nuggets have a good answer for Kawhi. I also want to give a shout out to Kawhi for what he did defensively tonight to go late, Like great playmaking from him as well in this game. But yeah, I don't know, man, I'm I'm disappointed in Harden. Like I just feel like he needs to be more aggressive. He needs to be more assertive. Even if your shots off, even if you're deferring and becoming more of a playmaker, you're one of this team's best offensive players. You were this teams, in my opinion, second best offensive player in the regular season. You could argue they're most impactful and important with Kauhi's availability.

I mean, you couldn't argue it. He was. He was the course of the season.

And now you know even how good Zoo is, it's like Harden is still a number two here. I want him take in more shots. I want him more confidently getting to his looks. And again, this is just a matchup where I feel like the Nuggets can't make hard and uncomfortable and he should asserted himself more. There should not be any game in this series where he's attempting ten or fewer jumpers or field goals, Like I need Harden to leave his imprint on this game a little more and assert himself. Dude, I'm as a hardened hater, I'm not surprised, but it's like, look at their one in two, man, Like, look at what Jamal does. You're gonna lose this game ten times out of ten, man.

Yeah, it was a weird game from Harden. They're putting two on the ball a decent amount out of pick and roll, and so he's obviously gonna be inclined to play make in those situations, as he should be, But I still think the Nuggets are all having a really difficult time staying in front of him. Part of it was like, again, it didn't hit any threes, wasn't finishing well, wasn't even shooting well from the free throw line, which was a problem for the Clippers in this game. And they only shoot sixty four percent from the line, so they didn't have their best stuff. Really, Harden was not even close to it, and the Nugget supporting cast did a really good job. The one guy who we haven't shouted out who I do want to is Aaron Gordon, who is a guy who was getting to looks that I really did like for him, Like I thought he was doing a nice job of attacking mismatches and he gets to the line a number of times in this game using his physicality and strength and athleticism. And Christian Brown was super active in this game on the glassiest twelve rebounds, gets a couple steals in this one. So it's a really good collective Nuggets performance, Like if they get this production from the rest of their guys, their four starters outside of Jokic scored ninety one points in this game, and Russell Westbrook scores twenty one points.

That can never have happened in any Nuggets game with Yolkic before. That's got to be some sort of record, man.

No, it has. It has. Smoles had his explosions, and Mpj's had his explosions, but it's a really, really high number and you're not going to beat them when they do that. The question is going to be can they replicate that in one of these next two games? And can James Harden step it up? Can the Clippers reach their maximum level defensively? We'll see. I said coming into the series, I thought that the Clippers were the team that had more margin. That's no longer the case. Now they're the team that has to be perfect. They're the team that has to go back to back and win two in a row, and we'll see if they can do it.

I still think it's going seven. I think the series is.

Going I think it's going seven to. I think it's going seven to and I am looking forward to it because this series has been a ball Let's talk about a series that wrapped up in dramatic fashion today. Logan the Indiana Pacers put away the Milwaukee Bucks. They win the series four games to one, and they did so in a wild, wild ending. Can you hear me? Are you hearing a Falcons cry?

No, dude, I just heard some report that Tyre's Halliburton was the most overrated player in the.

NBA, this fucking guy. Oh my god, did you hear that?

Did you hear that?

Yeah? I heard it. I heard it. Not the case slogan, because it's Hallie who puts the Bucks away? What do you have to say about his performance?

You know? I thought Tyres Haliburton couldn't score the ball. I thought he was actually really bad at scoring the basketball. I thought he's, like hella overrated.

Mm hmm, huh hmm. It's a thinker, because how can these things all be true at once?

How can a bad scorer put the Bucks away like that? Like he can't. He's not a good scorer.

So confusing he doesn't get by people, because I've been told that he doesn't get by people. But how is he blowing by Giannis on touchakoupo off every switch? Huh?

That's really really makes you think.

Man, Maybe that was like a glitch in the matrix. Or something.

This was such a fucking statement win for how man like I hope this shut a lot of people up. Man Like, I just I love it when obviously guys that I appreciate in sports prove people wrong. I was so insanely excited last year when Josh Allen, who was also voted the most overrated player in the NFL, you know, was the best player I thought at the quarterback position last year. And I don't understand still why Halliburton gets the hate that he gets. And I understand that he can be sure inconsistent in certain games, but I think that gets overblown so much, and I think when people really emphasize that, I think you just overlook that he is a good score, that he is capable of doing things like this, that he has phenomenal touch and you can lose sight of his burst and stuff like that. Like Halliburton put this game away. He hit all the clutch buckets in regulation. In overtime, Halliburton said, one of the best playmakers on planet Earth. He said, now fuck that, I'm gonna just go to the hole. I'm gonna just do it myself. The dunk in regulation was awesome. That made me stand up out of my seat, and also on the other side of this, what a crazy collapse for Milwaukee, Like there is no world in which Milwaukee should have lost this game. I had written in my notes thirty seconds left in the game. I had written down Bucks defeat Pacers in ot like I was one hundred percent convinced it was over, and then they stormed back. So I do think it's both sides of this, Like I think this is a really big choke for Milwaukee, but late game heroics from Halliburton, and I hope people were paying attention because I thought this is just a it's a statement and a star making performance from Tyrese, Like I think a lot of people last year when they made the ECF run took note and said, all right, this guy's a really talented young point guard, one of the best in the league. We don't know exactly where he ranks. This was a statement, superstar performance to me from Tyrese in a really big, crucial moment. And again not only to shut the door, to slam the door of a game, tyres put the dagger in the heart of the Bucks and said go home, your season's done. And guess what too. I think I just gave your superstar the boot out of the city. Man. I think this very well could have been Jannis's last game as a buck Man. But I'm so proud of Tyrese Carson. I'm so proud, And I'm also going to be insufferable about Halibert and the rest.

Of these playoffs. He was fantastic in this one. Fourteen points in the last minute and thirteen seconds of regulation and overtime. You're down four points with a minute thirteen left in regulation. Hollie scores on three straight possessions. He blows by Jannis twice, I believe, and then he blows by I think it was Gary Trent Junior. So he is getting to the rim every single time. He gets you to overtime single handedly with those three straight buckets, and then he goes cold for a stretch in overtime where he's missing two threes on one possession, misses another three and the outside shot really isn't falling. Then you're down four with thirty seconds left in overtime, and it's Halley who scores five straight points on back to back possessions to win you the game. Again. Both of them blowbys one on aj Green trying to pressure him up close to half court, and the other on Giannis. So I thought it was a wildly impressive, extremely clutch performance. I had some people after I said that in my replies, being like, well, how is it clutch? He missed multiple shots in a row in overtime. I'm like, brother, you score fourteen points in the last six minutes of a game, your team is down four twice, and in both instances it is you who single handedly brings them back, Like the game are you? I mean this sort of microscope to any other player looks for Aliburton, like, come on, man, that's almost the definition of a clutch performance. Backs against the wall. You need to make something special happen, and you do it over and over again. It was incredible And again, dude, I've heard this narrative that Hallie doesn't get by people, that he doesn't beat you off the dribble, that he's not consistently getting into the paint.

Can I ask you, do you think that's because he's such a great shooter.

I think it's because he doesn't get all the way to the rim very much. Because most of the time when he does get a sweep, when he does get a step, he gets into the paint and he's looking to make a kickout pass, right, He's looking to create for others. He's really only gonna take the layup if the angle is there and the help isn't coming. So that's where I think it comes from. But how he is constantly creating advantages. It is just his instinct to look to make the pass first, to look to make the read for a teammate, and he just makes the right play over and over again. Created so many great shots in this series, eleven point six assists per game, and truly might be the smartest player in the NBA. Like I have called him the best decision maker in basketball, that's damn near smartest player. I mean that doesn't include like your defensive IQ, where I don't think he's at the top of the list. Although let's give credit where it's due. He made a hell of defensive players in this game. He had three steals, three blocks, very very active, a couple more deflections. But when it comes to just like if he has the ball in his hands, he's going to make the right decision more consistently than anybody else. And when it comes to dictating where the ball should go offensively. He is always aware of where the mismatches, where they should be attacking, where the vulnerabilities are, how to most effectively do so. It's just incredible. I mean, like in the box score isn't going to show all this stuff. We talk about it all the time. Is such a great offensive player?

I think it kind of does. I think the stat that really reflects that fact is the assist to turnover ratio.

When you see I thought you were going to say the Indiana Pacers points per game. I was going to say, yeah, see it, you could.

Look at that. But we talk about this during the regular season eleven assists per game, under two turnovers per game. In this series he's at two point two turnovers per game and eleven point six assists per game. So one ridiculous efficiency. But that's such a secret weapon for Indiana because not only we always talk about how great Indiana's offense is at generating points, which is the end goal, but they're also so great at not wasting possessions ever. And what I mean by that is, so not only is Indiana great at putting up points on the board, but they're great at not turning the ball over and they're grade at limiting bad shots. So this team just maximizes every offensive possession. And that's what makes them so hard to stop. Man, And it starts with Halliburn, and you just gotta show him some love. Man. I can't I can't wait. Man, one of these days, Carson, one of these days, people are gonna respect Halle. Dude, I don't know what it's gonna take, because it's like, dude, just look at the team offensive results that we you've seen Hallie put together in Indiana, Like, I don't need any larger of a sample size. I think we have the results. But and maybe it's just because the scoring volume isn't there. I don't care, man, He's one of the most.

Impactful people for scoring volume.

It's like, dude, I'm sure there's some basketball fans would argue like Jalen Green over Tyres Halliburton or something ridiculous like that.

Man, Like I mean, Steve Nash is probably the most underrated player ever, damn near. It's just because of ports per game. There are those who know and there are those who fail to see. And it is sad. But how he's a top twenty player in my opinion, he's playing like it right now. He just has to really find the three ball.

I think I got a bump halle up, and we will redo that an all or revisit it. But I think I got a bump halle up too. Man.

He's awesome, and if he really gets that outside shot going in the cast hears, I think he could have a dominant offensive showing against them, because I don't think that's a defense that is built to make him uncomfortable. It's gonna be interesting. They certainly are a better matchup than the Bucks with brook Low because that was just always going to be food for the Pacers. We'll talk about that series as we get a little bit closer to getting started, though. I do want to give credit to some other guys for Indiana, though, because it's always a collective effort. Like Hallie absolutely deserves credit for being such a brilliant decision maker, such a brilliant passer, such an efficient score on average, like constantly putting his offense in position to succeed. But also he does have the luxury of having really good play finishers around him and other dudes who can step up and create off the dribbles. Some TJ McConnell in this game, really really good, just so shifty, so quick, getting into the paint, getting to those short rage jumpers. He was really big in this one. And then Aaron Nesmith hitting his shots, attacking the offensive glass wins the Pacers a couple of big possessions. So this is the beauty of Indiana's offense. Man Like, they had their lowest scoring first quarter of the year, and after that they just keep coming. They're gonna get good contributions from a number of guys, and they're going to keep getting good shots, and they're too skilled to not eventually capitalize on that. And the Bucks were just never able to fully weather that storm and fully keep up with a machine that was that well oiled, or really slow it down consistently. So Pacers advance. They look very good. They've been looking very good for more than three quarters of the year now. And if we're talking about regretting rankings, I've already talked about this and apologized Indiana, but I really should have had them as my number three team in the East when we did our contender rankings. I changed my mind almost instantly on that and said they should be in that spot. But I just continue to feel more and more strongly about that. Let's talk about the other side of this logan. There's obviously one big question looming, and that is what does this mean for Giannis? But before we get to that, where do things go wrong in this individual game and in this series for Milwaukee? Where are you putting the blame or giving a little bit of credit? Like Gary Trent Junior obviously going absolutely berserk in the game.

Yeah, I mean shout out to Gary Trent. He was him and aj Green were kind of the only reason that the Bucks are hunting around in this game. And I really thought, like, that's what sucks to you. Gary Trent hit some massive shots in the fourth quarter and ot Like, I really thought he was going to be the one that put this game to bed.

So I went, well, he did in a sense, Yeah, gave the Pacers the ball a couple times. But can I be honest, I don't think you could hold that against him if you're a Bucks fan, Like, straight up though, he's the reason you were in the game to begin with. So sorry, Gary Trent Junior, a role player live allowed to fuck up when he's given you thirty three points and twelve points in overtime on four or five.

Shooting they bought a gun slingder. You die buy a gun slinger man. You gotta let the shooter shoot. That's his job.

In well, he wasn't shooting, he just couldn't keep care of the ball. But I still think he did so much positive for you in this game. Not that I've seen anybody scapegoating him, but like that's just always how it goes, right, guy makes the last mistake, ends up getting some hate, and within the context of this game, like he's the reason that you won Game three. He's the reason you had a chance to win this game, other than obviously Jiannis being amazing, but like Giannis was always going to be amazing. Who was going to be the difference maker? Who was going to step up? Is Gary Trent Junior and aj Green.

The difference in this game and a difference in this series is really really simple. It's just a talented difference between these two teams. I mean I was literally sitting there thinking during this game, how many pacers are you taking before the second best healthy buck? And the reason I had that caveat is obviously because Damian Lillard exists. But you look at it, Right, the first guy that you're gonna take next foot the Bucks is either Bobby Portis, Gary Trent Junior, or aj Green on a given game, especially in this series, right, because maybe you can make a case for Jepez, But I just think Brook is a little too flawed to be the choice here.

So yeah, I mean Brook is unplayable in this matchup. Obviously in a vacuum, he's better than a couple of the guys you named. Yah, But let's just go through it, dude, like obviously and totally different. Well, I think we exclude Hallie. Okay, we're taking the number ones out of it. They can't slll each other out, Jackham, Turner.

Nie Smith, Matherin McConnell them hard. And then I really start thinking about.

I think that's it. I think that's where it runs.

I start thinking about my my dearly beloved Jaris Walker.

But that's an insane thing to say. I'm not gonna lie.

The Bucks suck, The Bucks are cooked. I mean the difference is, yeah, Indiana just has way more quality basketball players.

Yeah, I mean, listen, to be clear, we already got to six dudes after Hallie. That's crazy. And I don't think that that is remotely outlandish to say we's lighting them up.

I'm sitting there going, damn dude, Milwaukee would kill to have a guy like TJ McConnell on their basketball team right now, like they're just so limited around Giannis And uh, y'all should check out Carson's video. He just dropped the day on the channel talking about how important depth is in the NBA, and I mean, I think that's really reflected in this series. And well, I mean, Jannisnteto couldn't have done anything more in this series, and I feel so incredibly bad for him because this is one of the greatest individual playoff performances I've ever seen from one player against a team, and it just didn't matter. Like Giannis was completely unstoppable in this series and it had zero bearing on the outcome, which is just crazy to think about. We'll get to Janni's future in a sec, but that, to me, was the biggest difference in this series.

I'm seeing some pushback on TJ McConnell.

Bro, what over who I mean, I'm taking him over Bobby Easy, I'm taking him That's not even a question, Bro. I'm taking him over Gary Easy. And I'm taking him over AJ Green easy.

The Brook is like Brooke in your default matchup, is more impactful than TJ. Connell. This is his nightmare matchup, and he can be absolutely exploited for his slow footedness against a team that has the sort of speed and has the sort of shooting and specifically has a pick pop big like TJ McConnell. Bro Bro I'm not gonna lie.

I would be a starting point guard on other basketball teams.

Not many, the Orlando Magic maybe, I don't know about Outside of that, I mean shout out to TJ. I do like how he plays always great with pace, very quick, good little short mid range shooter, really good passer. I think TJ McConnell is good. He's not a starting caliber point guard. He is one of the best backup point.

A starting caliber point guard.

I think you would struggle to find teams for him to start on more than you think. There's a lot of good point guards in the NBA.

A Sacs bro the Minnesota.

Not over Malik Monk Minnesota Timberwolves.

I'm starting him over Mike Conley Brode.

No, they absolutely prefer Mike Conley shooting in size, defensively, although TJ is a.

Competitive range jumper in his life, Bro, I.

Can't really argue with that. Listen at the end of the day, at least there's a handful of dudes on the Pacers.

Leaks a much better playmaker. But I still consider him to be an actual two guard. But they're just playing him at the point.

I think he can run point for you decently well.

He starts from Miami like there are he's starting Orlando, like there are spots.

He would not start for Miami. He's not better than Davion Mitchell. He's absolutely not better than Davion.

Mitchell, way better offensively, Bro.

I don't agree with that. I think you're kind of undervaluing how his lack of three point shooting can kind of hamstring offensively.

A bit generate offense for you.

So it is Davion. Davion gets into the paint consistently. He's a good passer, he's really awesome defender. T McConnell is a good defender. I'm not going to downplay that, but I would take Davion Mitchell. This is too much time on TJ McConnell. But the point is the Bucks roster around Giannis sucks. It was not nearly good enough when Dame was healthy, and then when you lose Dame, it's just an absolute disaster. So shout out Gary turn Junior, shout out aj Green, big shooting performances. Remarkably, Doc Rivers eventually got where he needed to go in this series, and I started kind of giving him some props around game three, but really, it is crazy how long it took for him to reach the conclusions that, like we're obvious, either very early on in this series or before this series started, like I said, coming in, man, this is a series where Brooke needs to not play very much. And Brooks started and he played a healthy amount of minutes in game one, and then they tried switching with him in game two, like they were trying to keep him on the floor more than they should have. The starting lineup for this game was the group that actually got the Bucks back into game one. It was Giannis in the bench mob, and after game one I said, I think a number of their bench players are better than their starters, and like he's just really slow with a lot of these adjustments.

Well said, oh oh.

Yeah, well you know I think that the statement is true even if you cut it a little bit short, and I don't think the Bucks were ever going to be the better team in this series. And I think that even when they were playing the right guys, the Pacers were still better, but the margin was a hell of a lot slimmer than it was when they were trying to force Brook minutes or kus. I did not see being this bad in this series. But COO's was horrible in this series and was also probably starting in playing Bigmit's for too long. But like even more so than that, Ryan Rawlins was starting the game one, Torrian Prince was starting over Gary Trent Junior until Game three. Like, some of this stuff just truly doesn't make any sense, and it did cost the Bucks. Did it cost them the series? No, the Pacers were better, but maybe it cost them a game.

I love every time they panned the camera over to Doc and Doc looks like he's seen a ghost. He's he just always has this perpetual his face.

Yeah, dude, I think that he and Darvin Hamm are both constantly befuddled by the world around them.

Just got his hands in his pockets over there.

It's crazy, dude. It was a poorly coached team again, They eventually made the adjustments, but took too long, and it almost won them a game. It would have won them a game if not for a little bit of fuckery on their part and obviously a little bit of Tyre's Halliburn neuroics.

You want to get into it.

Let me give you honest his props first, real quick, because this is legitimately one of the best individual player efforts I've ever seen in a loss that is this lopsided, Like, honestly, the only one that I could really put on par with this, at least off the top of my head, is Lebron in the twenty eighteen finals him in Game one, that is up there for the best individual performance I've ever seen in a loss, and in that series he put up like thirty four on great efficiency. I'm talking about over a series, though, I'm saying, like, Joannis gave you thirty three fifteen and a half in six and a half on sixty five percent true shooting, and you were only competitive in two of these games in a first round series. Nonetheless, Like that's just so brutal, and it's inexcusable when you look at all the people around him, and it's a huge Bomber like he has been very clearly the best player in the first round. He got whatever he wanted throughout this entire matchup, and still they were not remotely close and the situation isn't getting any better.

Can I ask you about a historical one?

Absolutely you can.

What do you think about Kareem in like the late seventies with the Lakers in some of the like that's another one that kind of but like pre Magic.

Yeah, I don't think they ever got handled like this. They lost to the Sonics one year if I remember correctly, when the Sonics went to the finals, but like they had the year where they missed the playoffs in times?

Did you just mean like a colossal ass kicking like.

This I'm talking about in a series for five games. The Milwaukee Bucks for the most part, with just a couple exceptions, didn't look like they belonged on the same court as the Pacers, and yet Yannis was utterly dominant throughout and like played some of his best playoff basketball. I think twenty twenty one is the best two way stuff we've ever gotten from Yannis. Twenty twenty two was really impressive.

He's the best he's ever been offensively.

Oh it's not even close. Absolutely, He's the best he's ever been offensively, and this is the best offensive series he's ever played. So for all of that to result in this in terms of team success just really really bums me out. And I do think that Giannis has to be done. We talked about this after their last loss, but Dame now has a torn achilles. He's thirty five, He's not getting better, He's very likely getting worse, unfortunately, and is going to miss the majority of, if not the entirety, of the next season. So your roster, which already again was not remotely close to winning a playoff series, is now going to be even more depleted. You have no assets to improve in terms of draft capital or intriguing young players, and you are just lacking in so many key areas. And there are things that the Bucks front office has just never figured out. How to replenish their death, how to get more athletic, getting younger, figuring out another option at center other than Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis was a fine answer in this series, but there should have been a better answer than him. So you have somebody other than the slowest pure drop big in basketball.

And Simms is the guy that you're turned into, like, come on.

Man, it's just a really really abominal job that they've done building around him, and they don't have the opportunity to improve it at this point, and they don't deserve the opportunity to improve it, like Yannis should be gone. So I do think there's a very very real chance that we see him ask out this offseason, and I hope that that does happen. And I do have one specific destination and one idea logan that I hinted at after Game four when the Bucks lost. Here's the trade idea. I have Yannis to the Spurs, the Bucks get back Stefan Castle, Jeremy Sohan, Devin Vassel, twenty twenty five Hawks first round pick, twenty twenty seven Hawks first round pick, twenty twenty nine Spurs first round pick, and twenty thirty one Spurs first round pick. So that's four first in total. I mean, all unprotected.

I don't know how you could say no to that if you were the Bucks.

Do you say yes to it? If you're the Spurs? Are you putting all that on the table?

Peace?

Peace?

I'm okay, honest, I'm kidding Yannis man Aut them can kick rocks.

Well, that's a little bit rude, but there's a good old saying logan something along the lines of a compromise leaves both sides disappointed or whatever. And whenever I propose a trade and I put it out on Twitter and I attach a pull, if the results are basically one third saying this team would say no, one third saying this team would say no. When one third saying everybody wins in this deal, then I feel like that's a pretty good trade idea. And that's basically what this one ended up at. Although actually more than forty percent of people said everybody wins, and then it was like thirty thirty between Bucks saying no and Spurs saying no. I would honestly be more hesitant to do this if I'm the Spurs. I think it's a win for Milwaukee. I think that Stefan Castle is a guard with all star potential, vicell really solid young wing. Contract is kind of big. That doesn't matter to you. You're going into rebuild mode. Jeremy Sohan does some nice things and like that. A ton of draft capital and those Hawks picks are probably going to be pretty high, not necessarily like top top end but lottery picks. At least if I'm the Spurs, I am thinking about the fact that I am sacrificing so much of my depth and young talent. And like you said, I literally just made a video today talking about how depth is more important than ever before. Role players are better than ever before. The difference between the really good role players and the not good ones is bigger than ever before. The sport is more than ever before about attacking weak links, exposing flaws the teams have, which come into play when you have a guy out there who really isn't rotation or playoff caliber. And like, when you invest so much in your top end talent, you make yourself more susceptible to that. Obviously, and Giannis is thirty. Do you really want to be this aggressive and have this sort of urgency accelerating the wenby timeline? Those would be all my concerns. That being said, I would still say yes, I would still do this deal. If I'm the Spurs. Vassell pretty good, certainly not untouchable. I don't really lose sleep over him, Sohan is solid. He really wouldn't have much of a role with Giannis on this team, though, I mean, he'd be a bench player for you and Stefan Castle. I do think has all star potential. I think that he probably has the highest ceiling in this rookie class that we just saw. But I also think that that star potential is certainly not a sure thing that he's going to reach that level, Like there are still questions about him. Obviously, the shot is a major one, and I have the Aaron Fox, I have my star point guards, so he's more expendable certainly because of that. And the Spurs would keep their twenty twenty five first, their twenty twenty eight first, and their twenty thirty first, So I think that would be a win win. I would do it.

I mean the reason I do it is because I think you already have your defensive anchor and Wemby, and then you just have your offensive anchor and Yiannis. It's very simple to me. It's like, all right, we've got two studs on both sides of the court that can anchor us. I think Yannis could make Wemby better as a spot up shooter, and they compliment each other with Giannis and his interior presence and wemby skill, and you just have supreme talent with Fox, Giannis and Wemby. I would do it if on both teams. I don't think the Bucks are in a position really to negotiate a ton and the reason I say that is just because they have no future, Like I think they need to move off of Giannis so they have something down the line, Like it sucks giving up one of the best players on the planet. I have a couple of trade ideas Carson, We'll go through them a little bit quicker, but.

Kai real quick, just say I mean defensively, the rim protection tandem would be one of the best that we've ever seen. I think that, although obviously Wemby is a center and I always want to see him getting more paint touches, more easy stuff manufactured for him, Like he's also a big who takes ten threes a game, so I don't think pairing him with a sort of downhill force like Giannis is as problematic for Wemby as it is hugely beneficial for Yannis, because we know he really has to be paired with a stretch big to be at his best offensively, where he can do more of the downhill point Yannis stuff, and everybody spreads out around him. So yeah, I just think the talent upgrade is amazing. The one hesitation, like, maybe, if I'm honest, would be I just don't want to go to the West. I feel like I have a much better chance in the East. But if that's the team that has the assets and the appeal as a basketball destination, I think it makes sense.

I do have a couple other ones. The first idea that I had was Janni's switching teams. Actually, so it works.

Excuse me, that's normally how a trade works.

Carson been chief in him Newport's off camera. You already know he's been chiefing them. Marlborough d. We're gonna get carsonal breathe real quick, all right, switching teams to the team he just lost too. He's gonna pull the Cam Durrant. Indiana gets Giannis on Tetakumpo. Milwaukee gets Pascal Siakam Andrew Nimhard in two first round picks.

That's not enough for Milwaukee. I think that they at this point are just like we're rebuilding.

Well, that definitely is not my best package that I have. I do want them to get back.

I mean, i'd creem my little jeans for the Pacers in that scenario, I just don't think that a the offer is good enough for Milwaukee. Also, I don't think Gianness would play for the Pacers. I think he actually hates them. So the next one, I think he would maybe fight Halle's dad or Holle's dad more realistically, would try to fight him.

I'm saving my best offer for last. The next one I had was Memphis, So Memphis gets Jannis, Milwaukee gets Triple j Edi, Gg Jackson, John Contard. That's to make the money work, and two first round picks.

I still prefer the Spurs offer. I'd still too.

If I'm Milwaukee, I get Castle and that's why I think it's an arms race. And the team that has more AMMO than anybody else is Oklahoma City. And if they fall short, here's my scenario for them, Jannis and Ryan Rollins for I'm.

Not moving Ryan Rollins. I'm sorry, I'm not moving Ryan.

Rollins, Jadub, Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, Alex Caruso, Dylan Jones into first round picks. And again, some of that's just filler to make the money work. The key of that is Jadub and you know.

Yeah, the first I mean, that would be amazing for Milwaukee. I wouldn't do it if I'm Oklahoma City. Really, I am a Jada believer. I think that your core is so good. I think you're so well positioned. I think you already have a killer thing going with the double big. I think it's more valuable for you to have a second perimeter creator like Jadab than it is to try to sort of force a Jannis into a roster that is already historically dominant, and you have so much time to I sug to just dominate with Like Jadab's so young, They're all so young. I wouldn't really want to push my timeline like that when I'm already winning sixty eight games and potentially the title.

It's hard finding a really good fit for Yiannis because I think the biggest criteria that I was looking for when I was looking for teams, excuse me, I want teams that need a guy with the ball in his hands. So basically, any team that already has a primary ball handler, because that's the thing. If you're gonna get honest, Giannis is gonna have the ball in his hands every single possession. And I'm not saying that because that's how the offense is gonna work. I'm saying that's when your offense is at its best. So like Detroit as an example, right, I wouldn't want to send Giannis to a team that already has a ball dominant guy like Kaide, right, even if you think they compliment one another, because I think Jannis needs the ball in his hands, and that's hard because a lot of teams already have that guy. Or there's a lot of teams whose timeline is just way too far away for a guy like Yannis. So those are the two biggest areas that need to slot in. If you're gonna trade for you're Yiannis. Your title window is open right now and you can go compete and you have a competitive roster. And the second box to check is that Jannis can seamlessly fit in there and beat your number one offensively. It's not super easy. And then again, it's about Milwaukee getting aptly compensated for what they're getting back for Yiannis, because you're not going to take back pennies on the dollar for a guy like him. But I think it's in the best interest of both parties Giannis and Milwaukee to part ways. I think Milwaukee should kick the can down the road and try to rebuild as best they can. Like you mentioned last episode, it sucks because they don't have their own picks, Like you're really working from a deficit when that's the situation. That's why it's really important that you get back young assets in future first. That's why I think your Spurs offer is actually pretty seamless, because you're getting really valuable young assets and you're getting picks. But I think it's in the best interest to both parties. Let Giannis go chase a ring, let Milwaukee kickstart their rebuild, and let it go. It's just Milwaukee situation is not getting any better. It is unfortunately irreparable. Man, there's irreparable damage here.

It is crazy to me that, like the most prominent rumor right now is honest to the nets. That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense. I think, like, not only are the Spurs a way more appealing basketball destination, they have absolutely the assets to make it happen, like because the Bucks can even press them harder than what I just said. Yeah, it's basically and Derek Whitehead, Yeah, that's exactly the deal. Now, I don't know why the Nets would try to force that, like they honestly still would be a really easy first round exit. They'd have to do so much more that I just want to see him go to a much better team, and I think the Spurs have off.

That is the right play to me. If I'm Milwaukee, I'm yeah, it's you get my fishing rod ready, man, I'll put Giannis on the on the hook, toss him out there and see whatever the biggest fish it is that comes Biden. I'm holding him hostage and I'm running up the ransom as large as I can.

Audio The Detroit pistons got themselves a big win to stay alive in their series against The Knicks. Logan they are now headed for A game, six trailing two, three another one down to the. Wire this series has just been absolutely awesome to. Watch what did you take away from This detroit?

Win The pistons have played, really really competitive in this, series And i'm glad they were able to close one out for their. SAKE i thought The knicks really mismanaged this, game. Man you know at the end that was, weird where you Know brunson And heart have those injuries and they have to come off the, court and, LIKE i, know you want to give those guys. Breaks IF i Was, TIBs i would have told him to suck it up and to stay out, There like we didn't have time to have those guys come, off and even if we, Did i'm burning that time out the second that we get a, rebound SO i can Get campaign off the. Floor like The knicks end up making this one, close Like bridges misses the first corner three to make it, close and then he splashes a crazy one off an inbound like it only takes a second off the. Clock so like it wasn't, Disastrous like The knicks were in, there but in no situation DO i Want brunson And heart off the floor for that long in crunch. Time SO i didn't think they managed that. Well and, YEAH i thought. THAT i thought that The pistons just closed a little bit. BETTER i Think brunson needs to be, better straight. UP i Think kat needs to be a little bit. Better The knicks just didn't close as reliably as they normally, do and that was the difference maker to me in this. Game and The pistons play with such a physicality and violent ferocity every. Night, man all these games have been. Grimy all these games have been, nasty AND i felt like The pistons really brought it in this, one Especially Asar Thompson. Man The thompsons wins are really really impactful winning players already and already so far along is actual winning contributors on their. Rosters like a MAN i think is the best rocket already in a sar is so. GOOD i think he has ends up with seventeen in this. Game he, worked he may end up with. MORE i know he had seventeen in the, fourth but comes up with some really big rebounds in this. Game such a good. Defender SO i thought The pistons played them more. PHYSICALLY i thought their defense was a lot better in this. Game AND i Think brunson And towns need to be a lot better closing this game. Out that to me was the biggest difference is That pistons closed. Better and that has been the difference in all the games thus, far is that they've been neck and neck at. Halftime they've been neck and neck coming out of the third. Quarter who brings more BECAUSE i think these teams really are that close to one. ANOTHER i don't think there's a lot of separation in how good these teams. Are they edged me is that offensive creation advantage and it didn't come through for The knicks in this, Game cat And, BRUNSON i thought left them a little.

Short left them very, short and not just in the home stretch of this, game throughout the entire. Game like neither one of them were good flat out after they were spectacular in the fourth quarter Of game, Four brunson only going four of. Sixteen The pistons defend him just about as well as anybody, Man like they have multiple do in that archetype that you. WANT i do think That asar is the best one because he's so big and so long and so. Athletic that's the exact sort of guy physically who gives brunts in. Trouble Dennis, shrewder, though is also so quick and he's got long ass. Arms he's a really good option to throw at. Him cade has done a really good job on brunts and in stretches in this. Series so just everybody is making him. Work they're being, physical they're doing a nice job moving their feet with. Him their length is bothering. Him he's got four turnovers in this game as, Well so he was just never comfortable and like you saw him sort of try to lean into more of a playmaking, mindset but he's like trying to get some interior passes To Mitchell robinson he really can't handle and, finish so just not able to have nearly his normal offensive. Impact and Then kat also really. Struggled they were super physical with him, again and he has shot very poorly inside the arc in the last two games of ten inside the. Arc in this, ONE i think he was five of sixteen inside the arc last. Game like really almost all of his damage outside of that huge shot Over duran was done from beyond the arc in game, four and that was the case again in this, one except he didn't have a crazy three point shooting. Performance SO i do think that's very important to monitor For. CAT i think that you basically have to try to create more shots for him from beyond the arc because the mismatch attacking thing it's not. Working Like, Frankly Tobias harris is fouling him a, lot and they're not calling any of. Them so if they're gonna allow him to defend him like, that Like cat's not good with that sort of hyper, physicality especially when he's trying to like isolate him from the perimeter instead of like these true post ups where he gets deep positioned and he can get to a hook, off a few. Dribbles not a Good cat, game not a good Bruns in game. Whatsoever and then it wasn't pretty offensively For detroit. Either not much has been pretty offensively in this. Series But cad struggled overall in this. Game but he played better Than brunson and he played better Than kat and that was. Enough he was able to get to the line, consistently give himself something of a floor, there made a couple of big shots down the, stretch and he was able to attack a defensive week point in a way That brunson was. Not and that bak point Was Jalen. BRUNSON i, mean just bringing him into so many actions going at him always a smart, play got him a couple easy shots Where brunson is, showing But kate is still able to get to a pull up. THREE i think he scored on him off a. Switch he's shooting a crazy high percentage in this series when he's guarded By. Brunson so just it. Enough and THEN i Thought asar was like THE mvp of this. GAME i thought that he was. EVERYWHERE i thought he was so good defensively but, offensively he's running the floor hard in, transition he's perfectly timing his cuts and as great as a, finisher or he's drawing a foul every time he's rolling, nicely like just freak at impacting the game with his freak athleticism in a number of. Ways that was enough in this.

One, YEAH i do think The pistons could do a better job of trying to get bruntson in the action or cat both. Right that's their Like achilles heel is the fact that they've got two defensive liabilities out there on the. Court the one Thing i'd say THAT i was disappointed, with or actually, not because they Weren't. Anenobean bridges weren't. Bad you're talking about how The knicks have that weak point and the matchup specifically like With. BRUNSON i do think it's an advantage For, Detroit but WHEN i look at it on the other, side The knicks offense versus The pistons, DEFENSE i think The pistons do have a good answer For brunson With cad with A, sar BUT i don't think they have good matchups for anybody. ELSE i don't think they have a good matchup For. BRIDGES i don't think they have a good match up For anonobe AND i don't think they have a good matchup For Karl Anthony. Towns and that's Why i'm disappointed with The knicks is BECAUSE i just feel like they should be able to exploit these miss matches a little bit better and their aggregate offensive talent is so much better Than. Detroit's i'm just so impressed With detroit's ability to stay in these. Games, LIKE i just think The knicks offense should be rolling harder than it is with those, advantages AND i don't think they've done a good enough job of exploiting. Them and The pistons play so, hard. MAN i love the identity of them and every night the intensity that they. Bring But i'm a little disappointed with The knicks. Offense. MAN i expected more consistent and better results To game five of the.

SERIES i do want to give props, though for both teams making life hard on the opposing star, guard like neither one has been able to have an efficient. Series i'm just gonna read off some of these matchup. Stats cade when guarded BY og eighteen of forty nine thirty six percent from the. FIELD og has been phenomenal on. Him mckel also was kind of getting bullied early in the. Series he's ended up doing a better job as the series has gone. Along it really has been Targeting brunson And kat When caid has been efficient offensively on the other, Side brunson when guarded by A sar shooting forty percent when guarded By Dennis shrewder under forty four percent when guarded By cad three of sixteen from the. Field so it hasn't been easy on either one of these, guys which is very appropriate for the sort of gritty, ass, physical defensive minded series that we find ourselves. In it's kind of weird because you don't really think of that with The. Knicks BUT i do think they've played as well as they can, defensively and LIKE i Think cad has had a better defensive series THAN i. THOUGHT i do Think og has been phenomenal defensively and he has three blocks again in this. One mitch was really good in his minutes defensively and on the, glass and this one just struggled to finish and struggle to make free. Throws really. INTERESTING i do think that The knicks are still. BETTER i do think that they have a little more offense margin because they have more high level guys on that side of the, ball but obviously the margin is. Slim shout out To Jalen duran also for not just gobbling up boards in this, matchup but also really showing you that passing feel of his man off the short, roll like he makes the right reads at a rate that is very impressive for a young, center AND i do think that's part of the reason that he's got some upside as a young player who's already good, legitimately And Denni shruder also gave you enough offensive juice in this. ONE i love. It i'm excited for another game of, it And i'm very glad that we got a game six because of How game four, ended which just wasn't. RIGHT i, mean it was a foul ON. Thhj it should have been called a, foul and So i'm glad That detroit lives to fight another. Day you know who doesn't logan The Orlando, magic who put up a good fight in this series until this, game really until the third quarter of this. Game, actually this was a super competitive first. HALF i Think orlando was up at, halftime and then they lost the third quarter by twenty three points and their season is now. OVER i want to talk about The victors first star real quick, Logan it's not surprising to See boston dispatch of this. TEAM i actually thought they were gonna. Sweep it ended up being five and at some points was maybe a little tougher than you might have. Expected but what are your quick takeaways from? Them coming out?

Victorious he stopped playing with the Boy Jason Tatum man coming. Roh, Real i'm just tired of people hating On Jason. Tatum. BRO i said that last. Episode we're done with The tatum. Hate. Bro tatum's. Nice he's nice as.

Fuck hey IS i?

Agree tatum had a great. GAME i think when he's scoring like, this he's one of the best players on the, planet like, legitimately like he already is one of the best players on the planet every single. Day but when he's scoring like, this like he is one of the GUYS i want on my squad over anybody else because he is such a complete basketball. Player the two guys That i'm just kind of pissed off, about, though are Still Jalen brown And Porzingis. Man i'm you, KNOW i don't think this is the easiest series For Jalen brown, specifically like going up against a team that packs the, paint that's really, physical that's got, big good. DEFENDERS i didn't think it was ever gonna be an easy series For Jalen, brown But porzengis is incredibly. Frustrating, MAN i. Didn't i'm gonna be. Honest once this became an ass, KICKING i turned it, off like you, know packed it. IN i did watch a couple of possessions in the first half, though With porzengis where And it's been consistent throughout this. Series porzingis has been horrible attacking, mismatches AND i don't know what the problem. Is like this guy one of the best post scores in the, game one of the best mismatch attackers in the. GAME i think It's Corey joseph on him in one of, these and, like, bro you're a Foot you're a little over a foot taller Than Corey. Joseph, man this should be like the easiest bucket of your life and every single game if It's Gary, harris if It's Corey, joseph like these should be mismatches that TRADITIONALLY kp would just. Abuse And i'm Just i'm really disappointed with the level that he's been at throughout this, series And i've just consistently wanted more out Of Jalen brown And. Porzingis and so that's WHERE i do want to give a lot of credit To. TATUM i think The celtics were gonna roll Over orlando, anyway just because they are so much more, talented but he hasn't let their let down performances affect the. Team tata to put the team on his back consistently and made tough shots when the offense hasn't been, going when the defense has been playing really. Well and Because orlando's defense was really great in this series until basically the second half of this, game and like there have been stretches Where boston has gotten, theirs but they have been so great until the third quarter in this, game the Only celtic to hit a three pointer Was Jason tatum Until Sam hauser hit. One, Like orlando did such a phenomenal job in this series of disrupting The celtics offense and what they wanted to. Do that is so crucial in any playoff. Series just you're never gonna stop or completely shut down the other, team but you take what they want to do on offensively and make it hard and make it, difficult And orlando did THAT i thought to a really great level until the second half of this, game not letting them shoot open, threes not letting them manufacture a ton of threes and get open, looks and not letting them attack. Mismatches SO i do want to give credit. There when you do, THAT i think you got to heap praise On tatum BECAUSE i Think tatum had a really good series and consistently delivered in this one in a really tough matchup when other guys weren't. Performing and THEN i just want to give props to The celtics, collective you, Know, Horford, Cornett, Peyton pritchard giving them solid. MINUTES i thought they Had pritchard had a better game, Today but those guys have been pretty solid throughout the. Series The celtics are gonna need more FROM kp AND jb as we get deeper and deeper into the. Playoffs But tatum's a man, man And i'm tired pretending That tatum's.

NUT i really don't think that we can Lump jalen AND kp together in this.

Series jalan has some good he has some good.

Games, WELL i, mean like he was phenomenal in game two and his floor was just so much, Higher like he was reasonably efficient and productive in all these, games and the jumper was going at a pretty solid clip for him in this. Series LIKE i wouldn't say that he was, remarkable BUT i thought that he was solid in this. Series porzingis WHO i love and WHO i think is, great Who i'm higher on than most. People was really really bad in this. Series this game wasn't particularly, bad but you mentioned just the trend of not being able to punish, mismatches which is weird because, like, yeah they're being super physical with him and that can give him a little bit of. Trouble but he's also getting to shots that like he should, make, Right he's getting to his, short little twelve foot jumpers and just can't make any of. Them he shot three of sixteen on post ups in this. Series the only thing he did well out of the post was draw, fowls which he still did do because you, know he's a whole lot of man to deal with out of the, post and sometimes they just can't help but foul. Him but he has to be way way better. Obviously games one and three, especially he was just. Horrible i'm not too worried about, it just got to see him clean these things. Up the big story of this game and of How boston won this, series to me is just how Excellent tatum has been as a. Scorer seeing him in this form is. Huge he averaged thirty one to eleven and five on sixty one percent through shooting in this. Series that's after a bad game one as a score and then hurting his wrist missing game two. Entirely came back scored thirty five plus and three straight. Games was extremely efficient in this, one torching bigs off of, Switches the pull up jumper is really falling for, him and on top of, that he's making all the right reads as a. Passer he has ten assists in this, game so super impressive stuff from. Him And i've been saying for a long, time like this is the best basketball To Jason tatum has played in his. LIFE i do think it's the most complete he's been as a. SCORER i think it's the best he's ever been clearly as a processor of the, game as a, playmaker AND i hope that we continue to see that throughout this playoff run because we didn't get the best offensive version Of. Tatum we certainly didn't get the best shooting and scoring version Of tatum in the playoffs last. Year and the field is a lot tougher this. Year you're gonna have to go Through, cleveland you're gonna have to go Through. Okse boston did not face a team of that caliber last, Year so you need this version Of tatum to. Repeat and they're getting the version Of tatum that they, Need so to, me that's really the most significant thing for. Them let's talk about the other side of this. Equation Logan orlando is now, done what's next for? THEM i feel like we've talked about this basketball team a lot at this. Point it's basically been the same story every. Game paolo And franz, good everybody else offensively. Bad this wasn't the best game For palo And, franz BUT i mean overall in this, series they were. Impressive and we know what the problems are on this. Roster how do you hope to see them address?

It, yeah we've talked about this ad, nauseum So i'm not gonna beat a dead, horse but it's about sacrificing. Defense for, offense AND i don't really mind wherever they attack this from with their Roster, carson you, know if it MEANS i really like so many players In orlando and their defensive identity is so crucial to who they are as a, team and so it sucks to part, ways like with A Jonathan isaac or with The Jalen suggs or whoever it may. Be BUT i think for this team to take the next, step that's what they're gonna have to. Do AND i think they're just gonna have to make some concessions with. That the biggest need is shooting and just creation from their. Guard literally a guard that can create, shots if that is on ball as a scorer or if that is a playmaker for other. People a guy that can reliably create advantages and make stuff, happen and, uh that's what's. Next and like even if it's A Wendell, Carter LIKE i really Like Wendell carter and what he does for this team and how good he is as a. Rebounder but like anybody But palo Or franz is basically my take. Here Cole anthony AND kcp they can. GO i don't really, mind like they can.

Just, no you can't part ways With Cole. Anthony i'm. JOKING i was.

A Huge Cole anthony And i've just been so disappointed That Cole anthony has not gotten any better At Cole anthony will have games and stretches like a level quarter where he might drop ten points and you're, like, oh, yeah that's the good stuff, baby and then you'll HAVE.

I don't, KNOW i, said, oh, yeah that's the good stuff.

Baby LIKE i, like really, Well Cole anthony is a fiery, guy but Like i'm Just franz And paalllo or you're building blocks of the reason that you are a competitive basketball team as long as you hold on to those. Guys and, right like credit TO i want to give a lot of credit To orlando and how resilient they were this season When paolo was, injured because a big storyline for this team was the depth that they had and how they were able, to you, know stay relevant Without Paolo. Bancaro and that's a testament to how many good young basketball players they. Have so the GUYS i would.

Like just happen to all be good defensive beast.

Exactly that's the.

Thing they're going to be a top five defense no matter, what and they're going to be a boy and five offense no matter what with this current, roster and that leads to you winning.

Games even other young guys THAT i didn't mention THAT i really. LIKE i really Like Anthony black and how well rounded his game, is and if he could become better as a, scorer he'd be really great for this. Team Gogo batadze, right whoever it is, though if they're Not paolo Or, frans and it's going to be a, meaningful big, difference kind of game changing, Move i'm willing to sacrifice. Whoever SO i don't necessarily have a guard in, mind BECAUSE i think That.

Ascid Is i've got a. Trade lay it on. Me, Okay i'm cooking up the trades today because for some, teams their offseasons are, started and now we got to be in that. MODE i think, obviously by far their priority number one is an elite offensive. Guard good offensive guards would be a nice starting point because they do not currently have that on their. Roster the worst three point shooting team in, basketball they have the worst guard creation of any team that sniffed the. Playoffs my target would Be Devin. BOOKER i think the timeline makes. SENSE i think that the fit makes. SENSE i like that he is not a super ball dominant guard Because i've seen some people talk About Trey. YOUNG i do think That trade is a really good offensive, engine but he's not really going to amplify guys who play like And.

FROG i Think book can make Ban caro. BETTER i think Ban caro can Make book. BETTER i think it would be it could be mutually. BENEFICIAL i don't know if it would be, immediate BUT i think they could work.

Together this works with anybody, offensively because he is really underrated as a. Playmaker like he's absolutely a guy who can create really good offense for you out of pick and. Roll but he's also one of the best off ball scores in. Basketball and he had a bit of a downshooting the year this, year but is an elite jump shooter generally going to be shooting in the high thirties on pretty good volume from deep for. You so that kind of guy offensively is just gonna. Work and then, defensively he had a bad season because The suns were a terrible team and he wasn't really incentivized to. Compete but he's got solid. Tools we've seen him defend at a solid. Level SO i just think he's the talent you need with a fit that makes sense where he's not stepping on the toes Of paolo And franz and those guys can really play the drive and kick game and feed.

Him that's WHAT i was gonna, say is both of those guys get downhill and attack the.

Rim, yeah one hundred. Percent so here's the. IDEA i propose that The suns Get Jalen, Suggs Anthony, Black Gogo, batadze twenty twenty Five nuggets, first twenty twenty Five magic, first twenty twenty Seven magic, first and THEN i think you offer a twenty twenty nine first round pick. Swap do you think that gets You Devin? Booker is that too much to give up For Devin? Booker where do you land on that?

OFFER i like the, Players i'm just trying to figure out, if how if that's the appropriate amount of. PICKS i don't so realistically that's wait at last pick. SWAP i might just give them three Unprotected.

Okay SO i think you have to beef up the, offer cause if The rockets Want Devin booker first of, All you're gonna have a tough time competing with that offer no matter, what because they have so much draft capital and they have more intriguing young assets that they can throw, in and, realistically The nuggets pick is going to be in the. Twenties The magic pick is going to be late team.

For, phoenix especially if like they're trying to, pivot you know WHAT i, mean and not completely go back down and be in the shitter Like, OBVIOUSLY i think long term the idea is to also deal Off Kevin. Durant but, yeah they don't have.

Their own, picks so unless they do business with The, rockets then they don't actually benefit from tanking because they're not getting well.

That's What i'm. Saying that's WHY i kind of like The orlando deal, too because there is a way with that where you could at least a semi COMPETITIVE i.

GUESS i, mean if that's winning thirty two, GAMES i do think that they should trade Both book AND. Kdi, REALISTICALLY i don't think that offer is as good as what The rockets are gonna, Make but if The rockets don't make an, offer THEN i think it could be good enough, Potentially AND i definitely think it's a win for The. Magic and then if you do, that you go in to next year with BOOK, kcp who has to shoot, better but you've Got Fronds pale obviously on the. Wings and Then Wendell Carter. JUNIOR i thought had a really bad regular season by his standards because he shot the ball so, poorly BUT i thought he was pretty good in this playoff. SERIES i thought he was clearly their third best player active on the, glass was giving you a little bit more offensively than he did in the regular. Season solid defensive big with his ability to switch out relatively well and enable their switch everything. Scheme so, like obviously that's not a team that's going to be in the upper, echelon BUT i think it's clearly better than the team that they have right. Now and then you need a bench point. GUARD i would love to see them go out and Get Ty, jerome who told them that he would start for their.

TEAM i don't know how.

Much tydrome is going to demand on the open. Market i'd probably pay him anything he asked. FOR i don't know about twenty. FIVE i could see him getting definitely something in that fifteen to twenty.

Range that's my guess somewhere between twenty and twenty. FIVE i think he's A i don't. KNOW i think he improved his stock a ton this.

Year, well there's no doubt about. THAT i still don't know about twenty, five ALTHOUGH i do think he's the best offensive bench. Guarden basketball makes you, think, man like the contract that The celtics Have Peyton pritchard on and the contract They howser On, mike they're good at doing. Business they're good at doing, business but maybe it doesn't have to be as sexy At Hi. DROME i, guess just an upgrade in terms of your bench point guard. McConnell, yeah, MAN tj. McConnell they can bring IN tj McConnell and The pacers would never let him. Go let's be. Real he And Miles turner Are pacers for, life even though they tried to Trade Miles turner a hundred million. Times he's not going anywhere at this. Point and THEN i hope The tristan Da silva continues to. DEVELOP i really liked him as a. PROSPECT i think that he has a relatively pro ready skill set and you saw that pretty, versatile defensively good, size like to see him shoot the ball a little bit. Better but he's got really good feel as a passer, Too and it would be nice If Jonathan isaac could shoot the ball better than he did this year because he was really. Bad but if those couple of boxes get, checked then you feel, Like, okay this is a team got a lot of good depth in terms of. Wings we're, big we're, athletic we're super. Switchable polo And fronds will get even, better and they both had really impressive playoffs. Series and if we have A Devin, booker if we have a good offensive guard like that changes the game because their guard play and their offense Around palo And franz truly is.

Horrific we'll talk about this more in depth during the offseason. Two BUT i just don't want To lando to stand. PAT i want them to be aggressive and to go and make a big GREER i move for a guard because it's, like, Look polo And frans are gonna continue to get, better but you're gonna help those guys so. Much if you can get that little release valve for, him or fuck a release, valve if you can get A Devin, booker just get them a big dog like that would be.

HUGE i would absolutely be. AGGRESSIVE i would think they'll be inclined to have that mentality because this year was a step back compared to last. Year obviously injuries play a significant, factor but like you win fewer, games you're less competitive in your first round. Series that's not the direction that you want to be. Headed and they have so many contracts in like that mid, range Like isaac Cole, Ant Wendell, Carter Junior. Goga all those contracts are super, movable and the one THAT i think is pretty big that they might, regret although it does scale, down it is a decreasing. Contract But Jalen sugg's making thirty five million next. Year i've talked about, this but if he doesn't shoot the ball as well as he did last, year if he's like a thirty one percent three point year like he was his sophomore year in this, YEAR i don't think he can justify that value as good as he is, defensively with his offensive, limitations and if he's the guy you got to move to get the big, Fish i'm doing. It i'm making it, happen even THOUGH i do like him as a basketball. Player there you have, it, folks The Orlando magic talk and THE tj McConnell talk that you've all been waiting, For, Logan we're gonna be back tomorrow. Night is that? True?
