Catherine O’Donnell of O’Donnell Law aided in the creation of this annual event, aimed to honor the civil rights leader while simultaneously brining together the community. The public is invited to come help make fringe blankets for the underprivileged between 9am and noon – all materials will be provided. You don’t need any sewing experience, just to be able to cut and tie a knot! Blankets will be donated to Ruth’s Place, Project Warm for Veterans Affairs and the Salvation Army Kirby Family House. Angelica Singer tells Frankie how parents can ensure their child’s safety this holiday season. Thousands of children and treated at the ER annually due to toy-related injuries, such as strangulation from chords and swallowing batteries, especially tiny button or watch batteries.

 (10:08 - 30)   The Wyoming Valley has seen many historic buildings disappear over the horizon throughout the decades, but has also seen many gain new life  - thanks to historic preservation and restoration through community groups and specialists. Restorationist and educator Steve Kester joins the show to not only discuss the importance of preservation and restoration and how the two differ, but also talks about the need for skilled laborers within the various trades. There is a high need for craftsmen in industries such as woodworking, plaster, blacksmithing and stone carving – and one nonprofit college in South Carolina is taking the lead to reinvigorate student interest.
