This is the story from the far eastern part of India - Arunachal Pradesh. In the village of Kaho, which is on the India-China border, an 11-year-old girl named Tara used to live there. 

Due to a lack of resources, the kids in the village had to go to school by crossing the river. One day, the river was flowing higher due to rains, but the girls made a misjudgment and decided to still cross over for their love for studies. But the water flow was so heavy that a new wave uprooted their feet and children were taken away.

Courage is a quality that cannot be taught in school, it is something that comes from within. It also does not depend on age as even a small child can turn out to be a brave heart in the face of adversity.  

This podcast is an attempt by Chimes Radio to pay tribute to such children who have shown extreme courage when it was needed the most. There are those extraordinary children who act bravely in difficult situations to save the lives of others around them - be it their family members or complete strangers.

On this Republic day, let us celebrate those children who received “Bravery Awards” from the President of India. Listen and get inspired by these stories which, though fictional, are heavily inspired by true events from real-life incidents of children, who did not let fear stop them from helping those in danger.
