Join us for the MY96 Caring Coats Drop-Off event this Saturday at Arrkann Trailer and RV on Trans Canada Way from 10am – 2pm. Say hi to Hudson, grab a free coffee and donut, and help keep those in need warm with a winter clothing donation. We’re collecting jackets, boots, gloves, scarves, ski pants…any outdoor winter clothing or accessories. All donations go to the Salvation Army Resource Centre and are distributed to those in need, free of charge. The MY96 Caring Coats Campaign is proudly supported by The Salvation Army and ArrKann Trailer & RV.

It’s the second year that festivities are being organized by a new Canada Day Society made up of volunteers from The Connection group and the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association. New for 2025 is a drone show planned as the closer for the culture-focused Globe Up the Globe event on the evening of June 30. The drones are filling a spot left open by fireworks that have been moved to the evening of July 1 this time around. Then on July 1, organizers are planning a full day of events, activities, sports, music, entertainment and vendors. Local artists will perform from the park’s bandshell ahead of a Canada Day firework show planned for 11 p.m. that evening. The Beat the Heat Skate Competition is back for another year, too. All the activities at Kin Coulee Park are free and family friendly, according to organizers. More information on Medicine Hat’s Canada Day celebration is available on its official event page.

The Skateboard association has launched their End Period Poverty Campaign, with the goal of collecting feminine hygiene products for the Root Cellar. Originally, the skateboarders were collecting those products for their upcoming humanitarian trip to Mexico. They quickly realized those items are needed here at home too.
