Sidhu Ke Shooter took to the streets, visiting traditional matka sellers to rediscover the benefits of drinking water from earthen pots.

This month, something unusual caught our attention—mangoes were showing up in the markets long before the season even began. At first, we thought maybe it was a new early harvest or some kind of seasonal miracle. But as we dug deeper, we realized something was off.

Sidhu ke Shooters went to the markets and spoke directly to the vendors, who assured us the mangoes were from Ratnagiri, the heart of India’s mango industry. But when we Called out to farmers there, we learned a different story: most hadn’t even started harvesting yet. So, where were these mangoes coming from?

The answer? A lot of them were artificially ripened using chemicals and pesticides to make them look ready to eat. This practice speeds up the ripening process, but it also compromises both the quality and safety of the fruit.
