This is the 3rd  part of the Hidden Taxes That Are Costing Your Millions Series
This episode is powered by The Ascension Archetype Quiz.

"You are not called to do it all by yourself. You were called to lead all of it, and those are not the same job."— Dr. Darnyelle Jervey Harmon

Being the most capable person in your company isn't the flex you think it is. It might actually be evidence that you haven't built a company yet. If every important decision needs your approval, every deliverable needs your final touch, and everything starts wobbling the minute you step away, you haven't made yourself indispensable. You've made yourself the bottleneck. And the uncomfortable part is that what you've been calling excellence, high standards and responsible leadership may actually be control wearing a very expensive business suit. Because the business you insist on holding together with your own two hands can never grow beyond the reach of those hands.

If you are the smartest, most capable person in your business and secretly proud that nobody can do it quite like you, this episode may make you uncomfortable. Because the very competence that helped you build your company can become the control that keeps it dependent on you. In part three of the Hidden Taxes Series, we're auditing The Control Tax, the invisible cost of micromanaging your team, becoming the decision bottleneck, doing work below your CEO pay grade, refusing to delegate, and building an owner-dependent business that cannot breathe without you. If you're exhausted from carrying everything while wondering why your team won't take more ownership, we're going to confront an uncomfortable possibility: maybe they aren't the problem. Maybe you've trained them to need you. And until you move from being the best doer in your company to becoming the architect of it, the freedom, revenue, capacity and legacy you're building toward will remain limited by the one resource that can never scale: you..

Here’s the truth: you might not have a team problem. You may have trained capable people to stop thinking because you've taught them that nothing is finished until you touch it.

You’ll walk away witha new way to distinguish excellence from control and delegation from simply dispatching tasks. You'll identify the six signs that you're paying the Control Tax, understand the two grips keeping you stuck in self-reliance, and learn three practical shifts from control freak to collaborative CEO: design instead of do, delegate outcomes instead of tasks, and allow imperfection long enough for your team to become excellent. Most importantly, you'll understand why sustainable seven-figure leadership requires you to stop being the most capable worker in your company and become the architect of a company that can work without you

Grab your Move to Millions Podcast Notebook, a pen and your favorite beverage and listen in to discover:

✔ How to recognize when high standards and "protecting the brand" have crossed the line into micromanagement
✔ How to delegate outcomes instead of tasks
✔ How to shift from doing the most to delegating for results
✔And so much more

This episode is a call to stop mistaking control for leadership. If everything has to run through you, you haven't protected your company, you've capped it.

This is your invitation to loosen your grip on the business you say you want to grow. Your next level doesn't need more of your hands on everything. It needs you to build something capable of standing without them.

Why I took a Gap Year

Powerful Quotes from the Episode:
"A company can only ever grow as big as the founder is willing to take their hands off of the business."
"You're not raising the standard when you do that. You actually become the standard, and this is not a good thing."
"Exhaustion is not a badge of honor. It's a receipt, and it is a receipt that you are paying a control tax with your body and with your business."
"When you delegate the task, you create followers who wait on you, but when you delegate the outcome, you create leaders who actually free up your time."
"You have to become the architect instead of the laborer."

Questions to Ask Yourself While Listening:
What am I trying to prevent by trying to control everything?
Where have I convinced myself that "it's faster if I do it" while ensuring I'll still be doing it three years from now?
What has my team learned about their capability from the way I correct, redo, approve or take back their work?
Which $20, $200 or $2,000 tasks am I still performing that are stealing capacity from my $20,000 CEO work?
If my company had to operate without me for 30 days, what would break, and what does that reveal about what I've actually built?
