The amazing heroics of West Aussie Teen Austin Appelbee, who swam around 4 kilometres to raise the alarm, after he, his mother and 2 siblings became stranded at sea, has become a well-known story across the globe.
Serena Kipling, who was Austin's teacher at a Life Skills development school for 2 years, says Austin was a diligent student and showed resilience through adversity.
