In the U.S., there are over 300K children in the foster care system today. These children are navigating an enormously confusing and often traumatic disruption to their normal lives without a choice in the matter, and that’s why loving and safe Christian foster families are critical — they can function as a much-needed source of support and stability while biological families work to reunite with their children.
This National Foster Care Month, we will be having a conversation with a local Indiana foster family, the Eckrichs. Driven by their faith, they've been foster parents for four years and have fostered nearly a dozen children. They will share what they’ve learned about the best ways to support vulnerable children and families, and they can also discuss how Christians throughout Indiana can play a part in caring for children and families in the foster care system.
