A zone-wise physical survey will verify safety measures, approved building plans, and whether properties are being used as per sanctioned permissions.

If commercial activity is found in a residentially approved building, or if deviations from the sanctioned map are detected, notices will be issued. Construction may be stopped immediately, and repeated violations could lead to sealing of the premises. The entire exercise is being carried out under the direction of the Varanasi Development Authority. Authorities have made it clear that negligence in safety will not be tolerated.
