INDIA’S FIRST QHPV VACCINE AGAINST CERVICAL CANCER
The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) granted market authorization to India’s first Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus vaccine (qHPV) to fight cervical cancer.
Serum Institute of India is the manufacturer of this vaccine and is scheduled to be launched at the end of this year.
For the first time in history, there will be an Indian HPV vaccine to treat cervical cancer in women that is both accessible and affordable.
HPV vaccination can prevent more than 90 percent of cervical cancers when given at the recommended age.
HPV vaccination and regular cervical screening are the most effective ways to prevent cervical cancer. Awareness must be provided about HPV vaccination. Which can not only prevent but also eliminate any pre-cancerous condition.
