What transforms a former school campus into one of Singapore's most vibrant creative communities?

On this edition of Home Brew, MoneyFM 89.3 Saturday Mornings Show host Glenn van Zutphen welcomes River Chua, Lead Programmer for HOME | GROUND and Manager at Arts House Group, to explore a unique celebration of memory, creativity, community, and place at Goodman Arts Centre.

For one special evening on 24 October, HOME | GROUND invited visitors to experience Goodman Arts Centre in an entirely new way.

Once home to Tun Seri Lanang Malay Secondary School, LASALLE College of the Arts and the School of the Arts, the site has evolved into Singapore's largest arts enclave, housing artists, creative groups, performers, educators, and cultural organisations.

HOME | GROUND tells the story of a place shaped by generations of people. Through exhibitions, performances, installations, workshops, open studios, and interactive experiences, visitors are encouraged to discover the stories embedded within the grounds and connect with the artists and communities who continue to shape its future.

River shares how former and current tenants, LASALLE and SOTA alumni, and creative practitioners have come together to create a living portrait of Goodman Arts Centre. Highlights include kiss the raindrops, featuring fragments of stories from Goodman's past; "i thought you knew", a collection of participatory creative workshops; ROOTED | Site Encounters, showcasing installations inspired by the landscape and history of the site; and HOME | Frequencies, a vibrant live music programme.

The conversation also explores the importance of Open Studios, where visitors can step inside artists' workspaces, engage directly with creators, and gain insight into the creative process often hidden from public view.
