Recycling, which was once promoted as the silver bullet to fighting pollution and climate change has unfortunately got itself a bad rep. Here in Singapore, according to statistics released by The National Environment Agency (NEA), our domestic recycling rate remained at 13 percent in 2021, unchanged from 2020's figures, a 10-year low. So what are we missing here, how did recycling earn itself a bad reputation? Danny Foong, General Manager, High Performance Polymers, Arkema shares his views.
