Laws to tackle online harms will kick in in 2023 after Parliament passed an Online Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill on Wednesday. It was debated in Parliament in the past week and expected to create a new part in the Broadcasting Act to regulate “Online Communication Services”, specifically social media services.
