The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership has entered into force between the UK and members who ratified its accession by 16 October: Brunei, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.
It will enter into force shortly afterward with Australia, on 24th December, and with Canada and Mexico 60 days after they each ratify.
Businesses across the UK are set to face lower tariffs and fewer barriers when selling to economies across three continents, with the financial services, manufacturing and food and drink sectors in particular set to benefit.
