From heatwaves to flooding and storms, climate change is driving up the intensity of disasters all over the world. A recent report by the World Meteorological Organisation revealed that the problem is particularly acute in Asia, which is heating up faster than the global average.
Experts say there is a narrow window for the region to increase its resilience and protect its hard-won development gains from the socioeconomic impacts of climate change - nature-based solutions.
