Scions from two of Singapore's most prominent Lee families are boosting their involvement in digital assets.
Whampoa Group, a Singapore-based privately owned investment group that is co-founded by Amy Lee, niece of Singapore's first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, and Lee Han Shih whose family founded OCBC, will be launching its digital bank in Bahrain.
The move raises questions about the strategic choice over established hubs like Singapore.
What unique opportunities in digital assets might they be tapping into, and how could this reshape the financial landscape?
We post all these questions to Jireh Chua, Chief Operating Officer, Whampoa Group on the motivation behind that decision, its latest developments and what else is brewing in the group.
