October 2nd is designated as World Peace Day by the Soka Gakkai, a global Buddhist movement.
The day serves as a wonderful reminder to promote harmonious relationships between friends, loved ones, and nation-states.
One of the most effective ways cultures and traditions have depicted peace is through universally recognized symbols, such as the olive branch, dove, V-hand signal and rainbow.
