The Straits Times commissioned a recent survey earlier this March. 500 parents were polled by Milieu Insight to ask: How much do you give your kids for their school pocket money? The average is now $4 a day for Primary School kids, $9 a day for Secondary School students, and $14 a day for Post-Secondary students.
The survey also asked about the format in which they gave their kids their allowance - and about half of the parents give their child an allowance weekly to introduce the idea of personal responsibility and budgeting.
So what is the "right" age to introduce the idea of money to your kids? Audrey, Emaad and Ryan chat about it in today's Breakfast Bites.
