US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to meet this week, after senior US and Chinese officials wrapped up talks covering trade, critical minerals and artificial intelligence.
China’s global trade surplus is on track to top US$1 trillion for a second consecutive year, even as US tariffs continue to target Chinese goods. At the latest talks, both sides also discussed extending their existing trade truce and creating a new channel for dialogue on AI risks.
