A new discovery has been made: a bat-borne coronavirus, HKU5-CoV-2, has been identified in China.

While no human infections have been reported so far, the virus shares similarities with SARS-CoV-2, including its ability to infect human cells via the ACE2 receptor.

This has sparked concerns about its potential to evolve and spread to humans, raising important questions about the future of global health.
