The Taskforce on Assurance for Families with Persons with Disabilities has introduced a new set of measures to strengthen support for people with disabilities across different stages of life.
The recommendations include greater workplace exposure and employment support, better access to healthcare, future care planning, expanded community services and more support for caregivers, with the aim of helping people with disabilities live and participate more independently in the community.
So what will it take for these measures to translate into meaningful, long-term support for people with disabilities and their families?
