BlueSG has announced it will wind down its car-sharing operations, but the familiar blue electric cars are not leaving Singapore’s roads just yet.
Rebranded as Le Blu Frenchy, the vehicles are being leased through Tribecar for three months up to two years, with prices starting at $799 a month, well below typical EV rentals.
The move is part of ongoing talks between BlueSG and Tribecar that may include a potential sale of the fleet.
On The Big Story, Nadiah Koh speaks to Dr Ong Ghim Ping Raymond, Associate Professor and Deputy Head (Research) in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore, to discuss the move and explore whether this strategy will succeed.
