Can you earn millions from equity ownership?

Bhavik Vashi, Managing Director, Asia Pacific & Middle East at Carta did just that when he was working with Anaplan; he took the company to IPO and became a millionaire as a result of owning the company’s equity.

With that said, should employees  always negotiate for company ownership as part of their job package? At the same time, how do you navigate the complexities of ownership structures? More importantly, are you negotiating for enough equity?
